WHO/DANIDA Training Course: the Selection and Use of Traditional Remedies in Primary Health Care (Report of an Inter-Regional Workshop held in Bangkok, Thailand

This document is a report of a WHO/DANIDA supported workshop held in Bangkok, Thailand from 25 November to 4 December 1985. The participants, all directly involved in the planning and conducting of clinical and laboratory studies of traditional remedies, were from Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines and Thailand. In addition, there were lectures and resource persons from the Department of Medical Sciences of the Thai Ministry of Public Health and the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA, Chulalongkorn and Mahidol Universities, Bangkok, and the World Health Organization.
The report briefly describes the design and content of the workshop, gives an account of the situation in the countries represented, and concludes with general comments on the workshop and the participants' proposals for future activities in the field of traditional medicine and the use of medicinal plants.
